Dear Future Scouts,
This is the page where you will see a weekly message from me about what the Troop is doing. You will see achievements of our member Scouts, and all-around good ideas you might consider as you serve your family, school, community,
If you are reading this you are probably interested in joining and starting with our all-girl Troop in February. That is great! You will make many new friends that you would not otherwise meet – girls from different schools, religious traditions, and countries. Yes, we will certainly have girls who were born in different countries or whose parents were. No matter what, you will have new friends and do new things with them.
Preparing for our first meeting

Some girls probably want to know how they can prepare in advance of our first meeting on February 2. There are some practical things you can do if you wish, like getting a Scout Uniform and acquiring some basic camping and hiking equipment.
There are suggestions for those things elsewhere on this Troop website. The most important thing to do in advance is to make sure you bring along your best friends so you can experience Scouts BSA with them.
Another important thing is to begin to do now is to memorize the Scout Oath, Law, Motto and Slogan. Those are among the things you will need to know to earn the first “rank” of Scout. Other than that, just look at the website pages that show the things we will be doing and the places we are going to go. These include BSA Camp Snyder, BSA Goshen Scout Reservation and the BSA Summit National High Adventure Base.
The entire Scoutmaster Staff, Troop Committee and leaders of All Souls Episcopal Church look forward to welcoming your family, friends and you into Scouting.
Sincerely,
Craig Burkhardt
